Providing a consultancy report on the options for developing an e-publishing resource at the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah)
Comment
Following a visit to the client in Riyadh and consultation with key players there, this report (delivered in English and Arabic) outlined the technical challenges and choices in developing e-publishing at Darah. Covering data conversion, software and processes, access and distribution, awareness and outreach, a key recommendation was the creation of a Unicode-based publishing system, typographically stable on all platforms, that deals with websites, ebooks, and print books independently of operating system-constrained font technology.
