Comment

Bilingual page layout can present the challenge of ensuring that the text of one language aligns with the text of the second language on the opposite page. For this book another issue was whether to follow English or Arabic script traditions – for example, should subheadings in both languages match in placement or obey the rules of their respective languages? Bourchier played a vital role as the ‘middleman’ negotiating between typesetters and the client to ensure the desired result.

Testimonial

‘The typesetter has done a wonderful job – the first proofs were very well done, and the corrections diligently implemented.’
